During those times of pain and anxiety, it is really hard to understand what God is doing. How is he going to turn this around? What will be the outcome of this pain? Am I meant to just suffer through this without any answers as to why it's happening?
Friend, I want to encourage you and remind you that God is in control of it ALL. Don't give up hope. Keep praying and reading HIS Word. Keep seeking and following Him. He can handle your "Why" questions. I want you to understand that while you may be sorrowful, you can still put your hope and trust in the Lord. And when you do, you will have joy. Joy for a new day, joy for new opportunities, joy for the hope you have in Christ and His unfailing love for you. This joy that you have will become the strength you need to keep going.
Take a look at David's prayer in Psalm 13
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, 4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6 I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.
Here we see the transitions David makes from being overwhelmed with grief, to wrestling with his own thoughts, to questioning God, to seeking for answers, to making a request of God, to putting his trust in God, to rejoicing in salvation, to singing the praises of the Lord! This simple prayer is an example of how communication with God is the key to maintaining your joy during painful situations.
Don't stop talking to HIM! Even when you can no longer hide your tears.
I want to also add that there is no shame in seeking professional help from a therapist or counselor. The Lord can use therapists, too, sis.
